Fair Trade Afghan Khal Mamdi Rug

 Handcrafted by an Afghan refugee in a village rug cooperative in the Peshawar, Pakistan region, this rug is handknotted with a sarouk weave which is a ridgebacked, double-wefted rug knotting technique common among the Baluch people.  It is fashioned with wool warps, wefts and 100% wool pile and features a traditional Khal Mamdi design.  It measures 2'10" x 4' with an additional 6" in length for the fringe.
